It starts at the beginning of the driveway with enticing views into secret gardens abundant with butterflies and fragranced air. Then the Team and the House herself just seem embody a feeling of family and belonging, of coming home. The individual thatched cottage suites are plush and calming, decorated in palest green and oyster pallette accented with romantic sparkle of crystal trimmed canopies and dainty chandelliers. A privately orientated patio and garden makes for tranquil relaxation, reflection and re connecting.
This grand dame of the Garden Route is the winner of numerous awards since opening in 1989, including South Africa’s Hotel of the Year, 3rd place in SA’s Top 100 Restaurants in the Hotel category and nominated in the World Tourism Awards this year; this distinguished, family friendly hotel consists of a grand manor house with 21 secluded, luxurious suites set in the midst of magnificent gardens reminiscent of an English country estate.
An old-world ambience permeates the thatched manor house with its antique-furnished lounges, candle-lit dining rooms and sun-drenched conservatory.
Secluded within the gardens are 18 luxurious suites, individually designed and decorated, each uniquely distinctive. All have private patios and gardens, certain suites have their own plunge pools while all guests can enjoy the hotel’s large sparkling outdoor pool. We have Cub's corner for the littlies and the Teen Scene room for the children a little older.
Set in the magnificent gardens with a spectacular view of the Outeniqua Mountains, the Summer House provides an attractive alternative to the more formal dining rooms offering innovative, informal meals for families and couples with the focus on fresh wholesome cuisine. Our wonderful wine cellar too is a must see.
